General Traffic Violations
Under Indian Motor Vehicle Act 1988
We Should Avoid While Driving
1 Failing to furnish full particulars of the driver the registered owner of M.V
2 Permitting to drive without license
3 Driving or permitting to drive unregistered vehicle
4 Driving or permitting to drive a vehicle without certificate of fitness
5 Exceeding speed limit
6 Driving failing to produce either license or registration or fitness certificate
7 Failing to produce certificate of insurance
8 Overloading or permitting to overload a goods vehicle
9 Leaving vehicle in a manner likely to cause danger, obstruction or undue inconvenience to others
10 Carrying persons on footboard
11 Carrying persons or anything causing obstruction to the driver.
12 Leaving vehicle with idling engine
13 Carrying a child on petrol tank or carrying more than one person on motor cycle/scooter.
14 Drive or failing to stop when signaled by police in uniform.
15 To drive without valid license.
16 Driving or permitting to drive a motor – vehicle without being insured.
17 Driving recklessly or dangerously
18 Racing & Trails of speed between motor vehicles.
19 Failing to keep to the left of the road – Driving in the center of the road – Driving on the wrong side of the road

48 Straddling or crossing longitudinal white line
49 Straddling longitudinal broken white line.
50 Failing to comply with directional sign painted on road surface.
51 Failing to stop before transverse white line
52 Parking on pedestrian crossing
53 Parking on footpath. Motor Vehicles Act, 1939.
(118 – A Punishment for offences relating to accident.) Whoever fails to comply with the provisions of CI. ( c ) of subsection (1) of sec 87 or of Sec. 88 or Sec. 89 shall be punishable with imprisonment or a term which may extend to three months. Or with fine which may extend to Rs. 500/- , or with both or, if having been previously convicted of an offence under this section he is again convicted of an offence under this section, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with in which may extend to Rs. 1000/-, or with both.)

DRIVING TIPS

For Better Driving

Periodically Check the following
Engine oil, for long life of your car engine
Radiator coolant, to avoid engine getting over heated.
Battery water level, for proper start-up & long life of your car battery.
Tyre Air Pressure, to avoid wear & tear and long life of your car tyre
Look below your car for any Engine oil, Gear oil or water leakage patches & every day
After taking your Seat on the Steering Adjust SEAT, so that you are comfortable while driving REAR VIEW MIRRORS, to get a clear view of cars coming from the rear. After Starting your Car, See that the Handbrake Indicator Light is Off; if On, Release the hand Brake Oil Pressure Indicator Light goes Off; if no, Check Engine Oil Level Battery Charger Indicator Light is Off; if no, the Alternator is not working Engine runs on Idle for some time so that all the Bearings get Lubricated. Check your clutch & brake play PUT ON YOUR SEAT BELT BEFORE STARTING. IT IS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.
During Monsoon, Do the following Always drive in a low gear while crossing a flooded road Check your Brakes when your car crosses a flooded road.
If Brakes are slipping, warm them up slightly pressing the brake paddle & accelerator, release when brakes warm-up.
During Monsoon, Avoid the following Avoid opening the bonnet when it is raining Avoid water spilling on the electrical circuit Avoid water spilling in to the fuel tank
Before Monsoon, Check the following
If Tyres are worn out replace them
Oil your Wiper Machine if in working order or repair it if not working Check Wiper Blades. If rubber is worn out, replace Check Head light for correct angle of light beam Check water level of Windshield Washer Tank
After a Flat Tyre, to replace it
Slightly Loosen the Nuts of the Punctured Wheel Rim. Put the Tyre jack under the axle or pad only and raise the wheel. Remove the loosened nuts and remove the punctured tyre. Replace it with the spare tyre and tighten the nuts. Lower the jack till the tyre touches the ground, now retighten the nuts again in cross way (opposite nuts) Go to the nearest Petrol Pump and get the punctured tyre repaired.
After a long drive, Ensure that the
Wheel drums are not overheated, if overheated go for check up. Tyres are not Wearing Out in patches, if Yes, check up suspension. Do not open the radiator cap when engine is HOT.
Tools you should carry on a long drive,
Set of small and big screwdriver, Set of spanners. Pliers, Plug spanner, Wheel jack, lever, Wheel spanner.

Engine oil tin, Brake oil tin, Can of water, Set of hose pipes, Loose electric wire, Point and Condenser, Fan-belt, pair of bulbs. Documents you should carry while driving,
Valid Motor Driving License.
Registration Certificate. (RC Book)
Tax Certificate. (TC Book) or One Time Tax paid receipt.
Valid Insurance Certificate.
Valid Fitness Certificate for Transport and Passenger Vehicles.
Valid Permit goods and Passenger Vehicles.
PUC Certificate.
